Fill in the missing letters
Every blank square can be any letter, and every letter you enter stays fixed in its position. The answer is exactly as long as your pattern. Choose UK Scrabble for the most answers, or the Wordle list when you're working on a five-letter puzzle.

Frequently asked questions
How do I search by pattern?+
Type the letters you already know in their positions, and a ? for each empty square. For example, C?A?? finds five-letter words that start with C and have A in the third position. You can also use _ or . for blanks.
Can it solve from the clue?+
No. This tool works from the letters you've already filled in, not from the clue. It's most useful once a few crossing answers have given you some of the letters.
What do include and exclude do?+
Include lists letters the answer must contain somewhere. Exclude lists letters that can't go in any blank square. Together they also work well for Wordle: put yellow letters in include and gray letters in exclude.
