How does the Scrabble dictionary checker work?+
Type any word and we instantly check it against NWL2023 (North American Scrabble), CSW24 (international Scrabble) and our ENABLE-based WWF reference — and show whether it's valid in each, plus its point value.
Why is a word valid in one dictionary but not another?+
Scrabble uses different official word lists in different regions. TWL is used in the US and Canada, Collins (CSW) is used elsewhere, while WWF uses its own game dictionary. Our WWF reference is based on ENABLE plus verified additions; a missing entry is not proof that the game rejects a word.
Is this the official Scrabble dictionary?+
We use the same word lists that tournament players use, but this is an independent tool and isn't affiliated with the official Scrabble or Words With Friends games.
